My latest figure in dark clay inspired by a minute long sketch in warming up for life drawing class. This has happened before where a brief pose leaves me posessed to pursue it further whether in stone as it happened before or in bronze with this work. This is high relief in which the figure appears to emerge from the wall or background , it is an ancient art dating to the mesopotanian culture thousands of years. In my case this piece is a compliment to the one and only male sculpture in recent history in which the back with all of its muscles defined as the figure stetches out as if it is the back of the crucifix.
