as one becomes more hypersensitive to human anatomy every body part comes out calling to be adorned, this time it was the foot. I see it on a daily basis and my eyes try to grasp all that is there yet it seems to take on so many shapes and attitudes. one of those days it grabbed me and I was hooked. as it turned out this piece appealed to most onlookers more than likely because they all have a pair of them and can readily understand the art in the art. this is how and why I took it on as a sculpture study. my late friend and dear fellow artist Carla often made light humor of my body segments, at times it might be a thigh and knee and other times a female trunk or a breast and shoulder. she would wonder about me and joke that one day I will assemble them all body parts together to have a complete human being.
in some fashion this did mature in me as an artist in that this past fall semseter I completed a reclined figure in total from head to toe, a first and as Audree analyzed me eliquently; she said that now I feel complete and thereby am able to do a complete figure, thank you sweet friend.
