My love affair with Art began in childhood and to this day Drawing is close to heart. this dear sketch renewed my joy for life drawing especially working with charcoal. A dear friend and mentor stone sculptor Larry Oien marveled at this sitting and now proudly owns this artwork.
This spring I am casting three works in bronze, sculpture is all about three dimensional form and its shadows. when working from a live model there is frenzy in capturing the pose in the given time, often and especially just before she takes a break during which the pose may never return to be exactly the same; in that precious moment I sketch vital lines and curves that I have struggled to capture in clay early on. Those wonderful sketches become blueprints for a well engineered sculpture by design.
