to my eyes this was the fairest sight of 2010, Cari our model reclined this way and the rush was on to capture its essence. it was a delight to portray with clay the way her back tied to her hips at a tilt cantilever . the pose was reminscent of Ingres reclined figure Odalesque, but this was before my eyes and in the flesh in white and three dimensions unlike a mere painting I long admired since my twenties. Cari's a full figured lady with a presence and stillness unlike any other landscape. She validates the end result saying I captured her likeness in her own words, that looks like my bottom.
The second session I was even more intruiged by the pose so much so I focused entirely on abstracting it. that afternoon was one of the warmest modeling session ever, the studio was packed with artists young and old literally elbow rubbing elbow our Professor Ernie Welke was witnessing a rare event and as he usually does he turned up his tunes and made a fresh pot of coffee as he was in the Zone alike.
please, check out prior entries listed up above under prior months, I would welcome your kind feedback
