it was my largest undertaking in clay and glorious she is. one is humbled when called upon to recreate a likeness of an entire human figure from merely three bags of clay. questioning knowledge of the figure and dance moves musculature and keeping it suave. in the end you develop a raport with the statue and all falls in place.this work was inspired following my viewing the movie Black Swan. I would research dance moves and ask dear women to model for me as the process took a while to complete it was not practical to have one model sit on for all that time frame. nonetheless, the task at hand was totally immersing and engaging.
she is poised up so the onlooker gazes up at her stance and is taken by her form and grace. my neighbor has a life sixe scarcrow inside his garage window, now I am proud to say mine is more sensuous and far more alarming to any burglers nearing my patio door
