few things stirr the soul better than drawing from a live model. there is a scerenity and silence unlike it anywhere, self and fellow artists focus their attention on the figure while their minds and hands go all out in the time given to portray what is before their eyes.long before the camera was invented, the world relied on artists to sketch and paint scenes for all to visualize a complete story. the only remnant of that now is what takes place in court rooms as cameras are not allowed and artists trying to survive by drawing people's portraits in fairs or outdoor events.
fortunatly for the priviledged group in art sessions, we still have this high honor of recording a segment of the human experience our way the old way.
salute to my friend and neighbor Mike for his help and advice these past few weeks; this work of mine is now part of his collection to show my gratitude.
