for the love of Olives and olive wood, this addorable work took months and weeks to complete following five years of inspiration and execution.  people often inquire how long it took to complete a given work of art.  the answer is not always easy to calculate, just as with this piece of art.  the seed is planted in deep whether in the artists mind or heart, and to execute it may need a stellar event and getting it right  then is another matter all together.
as long as the passion is there and we stay loyal to the love of our ideas and dreams as well as craft, it will be done and done right.  as much as I wish to claim to have carved this lovely figure from olive wood that is dear to me as I grew  up in a village way over near the mediterranean that grows olives  and has done it since before the time of Christ.  It is actually made of terra cota and the faux finish is applied to the surface one grain and stroke at a time to acheive that look, she is lovely and measures over two feet.

a wish to all the fathers on this fathers day, thank you for taking a chance on meeting the right woman and being brave to start a family so we may have a life and a dream.  thank you dad for every bit of who you are I enjoyed your recent visit and more so our adult conversations that were more buddy to buddy.
